哦....蛋炒饭

Hmm got someone who read my blog like newspaper now...funny...no news no nth leh..juz plain old me grumbling n writing down my everyday tiny details..yawn...so free ah?

Anyway today actually wanna bring my parents try tat old peking canteen's (lao beijing shitang) buffet...but my cousin-in-law came to fix dunno wad then juz sat there and chatted until we missed the timing 3-5pm...so we walked down all the way from PS to paragon..so many ppl on orchard road lor..even on such a cooling day we were sweating while walking there...oh ya saw tianwei along the way..he saw me lor..and looked over my head without acknowledging me...( not tat i am short k)..felt he's damn rude..look over my head somemore..great insult...(sorry nat for doing tat to u all the time hehe..)

So we went to ding tai feng to eat dinner..by then was quite hungry..even at 5+ the restaurant was alr pretty crowded ...we ordered fried rice (dan chao fan), fried ribs with fried rice, dan dan noodles and of cos xiao long bao!! Particularly muz recommend ppl to eat their fried rice..really alot of eggs and the rice was stir-fried until v fragnant...it costs a plate at 5.50 n the one with ribs 8.50..i prefer the one with ribs or else egg fried rice is still pretty plain..it's always nice to eat w/o my niece for a change as suddenly there will be no noise pollution...after tat we went up the road to walk horse see flower (zou ma kan hua)...until it was nearly 7+..bought snacks at burger king before we go home..think my dad wasnt exactly full haha...oh well my vampire show is on now..

Dim sum brunch

Haha today got a funny turnout of our class outing..seems like RV outing more ( other than jiaqi) than s06 class outing..today got me, fabian, weehao, zirong n jiaqi...my poor son (yunfoong) was stuck in camp doing guard duty while my daughter (hf) was doing her school project the whole day...guess we are a brunch of free ppl..we ate a fair amount there, chatted alot (with much low-standard laming) until it seems like we hindered them to clear the tables..i din eat much fried food as dun wan to develop sore throat again...i was pretty full after tat..even had difficulty forcing myself to eat dinner again at 6pm...the guys later on went to science ctr to see the star wars exhibition (which i die die wun waste money on tat) so i went home watched whole afternoon of tv..quite nice actually..so rested the whole day...first time went out for a mere 3hrs...well juz a slack day..

Shopping Spree

Dun be mistaken..today i only bought 2 shirts at 20% discount..only feel like spending alot on buying new clothes suddenly...i bought a new pair of shoes for my dad for the new yr or else he's gonna be stuck w tat old ugly sandals again..at least i got more taste...today whole family (incl my noisy niece) went to orchard to shop..my niece was super anxious to find a pair of sandals (which ends up to be those kind of pink kiddy heels--utterly disgusted)...but couldn't find a nice pair there..so i went to look for my clothes..she was stalking here n there with a black face..damn funny to see her irritated..at first i wanna paid for my own clothes but my mum paid for me (she in good mood after pms me for nearly one wk)..oh well i can save more money for more clothes too..

i hope to get a nice skirt n a pair of pants..prob more t-shirts for nxt sem..will be out scouting for more clothes nxt wk...my pay is finally coming in!!

Losing taste

Finally after a good night's sleep (tho still hav blocked nose), my illness seems to recover..other than i am gradually losing my taste yet again..cant hardly taste the apple i ate juz now..well anw today i should be at the beach having fun..but guess i am not fated to go n hav fun there..i slept well n got up n did a draft for my nxt sem's timetable..it sucks really..even within the same chinese course..the core can clash with e electives...did the teacher meaning to teach other ppl rather than the major students? i sent an email to the secretary..hopefully there will be changes..so sad tat i cannot take Jap level 2 due to my irritating timetable..quite a pity as i really wanna learn another language...mayb i will self study so tat mayb i can take tat during special semster..it will again be a 5-day wk (if i can successfully get all my slots in) n i can leave early on fri..tat's wad i am most happy about...cos this sem is really slogging away..super tiring..with early fri off i can at least have a longer wkend..

My dad suddenly wanna go Fortunate Restaurant to eat dim sum as he gotta go for another medical checkup nxt wk..prob need another operation which i know he is pretty upset..my dad dote me most i know..abit nagging but nv like to beat me..i really hope the checkup goes well n he need not be hospitalize again...then we juz walked ard toa payoh central...i bought another pair of shoes (my mum kept shaking her head)..i like canvas shoes wad...cannot afford Converse one so bought one navy blue pair at only $19.90..quite a bargain..but think i need to get a shoe cupboard of my own to accomodate all my shoes hehe...

another wk is gonna pass soon...not as exciting n happy as last wk..meeting class for a meal on sat is the only exciting event to look fwd to..cos i know i will be at least cheer up by them..well then..off to play my mahjong b4 i end off the day..

Mahjong day--on losing streak...

Today went to Bukit Panjang Plaza to meet up with fishie (aka yusui), huiqi and their friend Simen to have lunch n later play mahjong at yusui's place...it's been quite awhile since i saw yusui who went to smu n nv turn up for our badminton outings..poor huiqi her skin on her foot nearly came out due to the blister n she walked w such a limp...she is going to HongKong this fri too..i really hope she will recover by then n have a fun trip...we went to jack's place to eat the student's meal but their service was so damn slow tat we penalised our time to play more rounds of mahjong...

By the time we reached her place, it was already 3pm n we gotta leave at ard 6 to eat dinner at home...it was really stuffy at her place as the sun kept shinning in..but lucky we din move ard much as i was still feeling quite giddy this morn..i was on the verge of winning when they gamed...to tell the truth i din game even once...i was determined to play until i game but....suay means suay...i played until quite sieh...din know i dun hav a tai when i game..so means i 'za hu'..they were so relieved when i finally 'gamed' juz to find out i 'za hu' to end off my losing streak of mahjong session...damn sian diao...but anyhow it is still fun to play mahjong as i long long time nv play le...so anyone who wanna play mahjong muz call me k...i muz 'fan ben' (we played chips not real money)...

Sick again....

Due to some personal reasons i couldn't sleep well last night...tossing n turning the whole night...in addition to my runny nose which has developed into a 'full-blown' flu today..i am feeling super sleepy the whole day..hardly awake for a few hours...my eyes are swollen n get tired easily..been feeling warm the whole day too...guess i have a fever n slight sore throat...think i pia too much last wk..now aches starting to act up n gotten so sick again...bleah..i need to lie down again...

E-X-H-A-U-S-T-E-D--after marathon

Finally after the marathon...yesterday i was so shagged tat i din bother to blog...now finally regained some energy after sleeping for near 10hrs...

I gotta wake up at 2.15am to get ready for my marathon drink station volunteer work...gotta meet at 3am to get our stuff like food (it sux as usual), gloves and penknife etc...oh ya i met zhanjiang who was there as section leader...anw my station was pathetic..cos ended up only 2 crew under me..we gotta work super hard cos we severely understaffed...needed to set up 24tables n prepare to uncap near 6000+ bottles for the full marathon runners..this yr the bottles were super hard to open..it didn't take long for us all to feel the pain n blisters developing even we were wearing gloves..we worked from 4+ to 7+ then we rested abit before the first batch of elite runners approached our station...they finished 40km in ab 2hrs time lor...super fast..by then we worked relentlessly all the way..with only 3 of us n trying to replenish the drinks..need to uncap n everything...as more ppl approached we found it super hard to keep up n even if i kept requesting for more ppl...we struggled until 11+ before they arrived...

we oso had to open chilled drinks as most runners like more due to the super hot weather...i was super glad tat 2 korean runners (half marathon runners who finished earlier) stopped n helped us to open the caps n gave out to runners...their english was quite bad so they shouted 'ice ice' instead of ice water haha...they oso shouted encouragement to fellow korean n many stopped to chat...i had to carry boxes of bottled drinks to replenish water..then dug into ice cold water to retrieve the chilled drinks...really strained my back and many small cuts and blisters after tat...until the backup came then we managed to catch a breather n rest our tired legs...we muz hav been standing for 4hrs n running ab to carry drinks...really really v shagged...the back up had 18 crew which meant we were over-staffed haha..so i juz sat back n relax while they can slowly help me do the work...by then crowds were beginning to thin out..

haiz my crews were the most cold-blooded ppl...after we stood down from duty at near 2pm...we juz walked back to padang..they juz treated me invisible n started walking in front of me until i lost sight of them...i worked as hard as any of them too...haiz...showed their true faces after tat...
but well on the happier note..i met yunning after tat for my well-deserved lunch ( my bfast was at 5am)...i had the $20 reimbursement n since we both suddenly v enthu we decided to try genki sushi buffet at $15++..add $2 u can hav free flow of drinks...oh ya we met hong ge on the way to marina sq who juz gave me a punch n walked off..act cool guy haha..we ate till we nearly burst at the buffet...we counted we ate ard 28 dishes...the best is the salmon sushi...big slices on each sushi..damn nice..our target was 30 but we really wanna puke le..haha teewei u nv come..missed a good meal..

after eating we cautiously( due to our bloated tummy) made our way to the mrt station where we were going to istana to watch the last COG of the yr...by the time we rushed there they juz reached n i cant really get a good look with ppl tall in front of me (pity yunning too hehe)...i saw my cousin watching too..he was once in military band n he told me the band yesterday was the best..this month the stunts are finally diff from all those tat i watched earlier this yr...more throwing of rifles!! my fav...there was one with 2 guys stood facing each other with a person in the centre facing the front...the 2 guys were exchanging rifles right in front of the person's face haha...too bad i stood at the side so at tat angle i really couldnt see much..the performance was quite good as no one dropped rifle or did wrong moves (as far as i can see)...the only minor flaw was one guy's helmet dropped (which he caught it in time) when they ended off one section n bent down their head...it was bad of me la..but he indeed look quite silly haha...

after tat yunning n i parted to go home..my cousin n i took the same bus home where he, as usual, kept talking to me while i was struggling to keep my eyes open n answered his usual silly questions..i was super tired after everything n forcing myself to keep awake while i walked home..i afterall, was awake nearly the whole night...the rest of the details are no more interesting so i shall end here...yawn...still tired...

Eve of marathon..

Yawnz...seriously i am already feeling v sleepy now...dunno why too...mayb my mind is preparing mentally to sleep early haha..i need to wake up at 2.15am to get ready to go there..damn sian today cos 3 out of 4 crews told me they cannot make it due to some stupid reasons...all said cannot make it..if so why make the commitment? this is really creating inconvenience to other ppl...i think this is Hall project to earn points? stupid...it's NTU Hall 7 ppl..i tell u those ppl better watch out...i am alr despising them for being so irresponsible..if nxt time their hostel on fire hmm.....

now really quite sian...this yr marathon preparation sux...last time one briefing we can settle everything..this yr went for 3 briefings n the apparels were only given to me this fri..which is only 2 days away from the event day..they ought to show more efficiency...this or tat cannot confirmed...it's lucky i got previous experience or else normal ppl may not know wad to do..haiz...bad temper now..

ok i better go pack my bag now...or else gonna be a rush later...

Ultimate walking day

Busy busy day today was....frankly my legs are still trembling (or shaking?) slightly now...

ok today, after receiving a last-min msg from SSC( Singapore Sports Council) to collect the apparels for the marathon on this coming sunday..i went w my dad to go stadium n collect then we went to suntec to look at the marathon expo at hall 6 then went w my dad to walk ard the newly opened Marina Sq..i felt like a tour guide bring my dad ard haha..then i joined my mum n aunt plus my 2 hyper-active + super noisy nieces to tour Marina Sq again...we went to esplanade roof terrace then walked back to suntec again....shortly after bringing them there, i walked back to espl (need to walk from marina sq to millenia walk n take underpass to suntec) to take bus to harbourfront..

then i tabao dinner for both of us n we went up the mount faber..my legs were all wobbly by the time i reached the top..it was really a cooling night n strong winds kept blowing..there were quite a few changes at the top since i last went up..the cable car station has sort of joined w a classy restaurant n we cannot go up as it is for special functions..u cannot enter the restaurants in tee-shirt n slippers too..damn sian lor...but my main purpose of going up was to see the big xmas tree at the top..it turned out to be one of the red towers transformed w fake leaves n all the lightings with a star on the 'treetop'...but nevertheless it looked really magnificant at a distance...i can see it from my niece's hse...well i think for nxt time's outing to the top..we can only go to the marine deck ( the one near the ship) or the place w merlion..

seems like i hav been walking all day lor...actually nearly whole of this wk too...busy but enjoyable wk really...so glad i can play w/o a care haha..no need to envy me hehe cos i earned it!!

ps: i will be doing standard chartered marathon drinks station this coming sun, at marina promenade..feel free to come to the padang n join in the carnival!! sadly i think i will only step down from duty at ard 2+? i dunno...

KTV at Chinatown

Today i went to kbox with my GV17( singing module) classmate, Jason who asked his friends along n i dragged yun ning'er to go with me...surprising 2 of which i already knew from last time badminton session..his friends are all v funny n friendly...but still not as comical as Jason (for which we secretly crown him the class clown haha)..at first v shy of singing but the guys juz went on n on...one guy was still having sore throat lor...they sang alot of songs which i seldom sing cos mainly guys' vocal range n too low for me..

For the whole of 5hours at the ktv..the music nv stop and mostly the 2 guys kept singing away..i salute them for their stamina...cos towards the end i was sounding quite hoarse..partly due to laughing too much too hehe...it's juz super funny when they tried to cover karen's singing by singing louder then ended up like the glass door was gonna break any moment haha..oh ya..besides me n yunning, all his friends are yr 3 engineering students..and i am the only non-engine student there...but we are all from NTU..it's v fun singing w a big group cos the music juz go on n on so it wun tire anyone out..but oso not too many ppl (only 6 of us) or else it will take ages for ur turn to sing too..the money was definitely well spent with them ard...

Great time i had...i feel like going again haha...but not too soon k...dun hav so much money :(
